Tokyo Expat Social Club is a small, low-pressure community for internationals and internationally-minded locals in Tokyo. We meet for walks, picnics, dinners, and easy conversation most weeks. Most people come alone.
Almost nobody leaves a stranger.

If you'd like to join

Getting involved is simple:1. RSVP to an event on Meetup. That's it, really. Come to whichever one fits your week.
2. Join our Discord to stay in touch between events. We're always chatting there, and our free online hangouts live there too.
3. Follow along on Instagram, or read the quieter side of TESC on Substack.No pressure to be outgoing, no need to know anyone in advance. Showing up is enough.

Who can join?
Anyone in or around Tokyo who wants a calmer way to meet people. New arrivals, long-timers, locals, accompanying partners. If you've been meaning to come to something but keep talking yourself out of it, you're exactly who this is for.Do I need to bring someone?
No. Most people come alone. That's the normal way to arrive here.How much do events cost?
Picnics and casual meetups are around ¥1,200 to cover sheets, snacks, and coordination. Dinners and special events vary; each event page has the details. Online events are free.How do I RSVP?

Notes on participation

All events are informal social gatherings organized by a small community group. By attending, you agree that participation is voluntary and at your own risk; organizers are not liable for personal injury or property loss. Event fees cover materials, coordination, and hosting costs and are non-refundable unless the organizer cancels. Please respect other attendees, personal boundaries, and venue rules. Photos or short videos may be taken at events for TESC's community channels; let the organizer know if you'd prefer not to be included, and we'll respect that.

TESC Supporter Membership

The TESC Supporter is a simple way to support the community and stay a little closer to it. It includes access to a small private space on Discord, where conversations tend to be quieter and more ongoing.Price
